CENTRIFUGE

Introduction

The centrifuge is a kitchen appliance able to divide the liquid part from the solid part of food, and its use is mainly for vegetables and fruit, for the realization of the much appreciated juices.

This device over time did not have the success that it was supposed to have, a little for its low versatility, a little for the medium-high cost and also for the limited success that these types of food generally have.

Over the years, the development of yogurteries and exercises that can offer fresh juices of fruit and vegetables at affordable prices using professional centrifuges, has made sure that fewer people buy the centrifuge to make home-made preparations.

CENTRIFUGEDespite this, the fashion of vegetables and fruit juices is increasingly taking hold and consequently, the centrifuges are undergoing the merciless competition of another highly appreciated appliance: the extractor. This machine is able to extract the juice from vegetables, but in a completely different way from how the centrifuge does it, and in many ways it seems to be better.

On the market it is possible to buy cooking robots that include several functions, among which the centrifuge, even if the result will never be the same as that obtained with the only machine to centrifuge the food.

Operation

Thanks to the centrifugal force the separation of the liquid part is obtained from the solid one and the food is introduced into a container basket where there are blades made of metal, which rotating at a speed of 6000-1800 rpm, is able to develop a centrifugal force capable of breaking the cells of the plants and thus freeing the juice found in them.

Once this juice is ready, it is filtered through small holes that are in the basket, and then collected in an underlying container that is located externally, from which we can directly drink the juices, or choose to centrifuge or filter it again.

Once the juice is made from fruit and vegetables, this should be placed in the fridge if it is not consumed immediately.

CENTRIFUGEThe centrifuge for vegetables, unlike the juicer, which is limited as the word itself to make only juices from fruits, is able to extract the juice even from harder vegetables to be processed, such as carrots or broad-leaved vegetables as spinaches.

The resulting juice has a limpid color, but contains particles that are able to pass through the holes in the filter.

The clearness of the centrifuge juice depends mainly on the power of the machine and also on the dimensions of the filter holes.

You can buy centrifuges for vegetables on the market with a cost of less than 100 dollars, but the most sought-after professional ones, have a commercial value that is around 250 dollars.

To obtain satisfactory results it would be good to buy high-brand centrifuges, because with the economic product it is much easier to obtain any smoothie, rather than a full-fledged juice.

Advantages and disadvantages

The sole and only advantage of the centrifuge in general is to be able to extract the juice in most of the vegetables, even in those that it seems impossible to obtain in other ways.

CENTRIFUGEIf we talk about centrifuges from the point of view of nutrition, we can say that being ourselves to decide what we want or not to centrifuge, we can make drinks very rich in vitamins, seen and considered that in the juice are present in very large amounts of nutrients, while in the part to be discarded we find mainly only indigestible fiber of plants.

We can say that anyone who daily takes a very varied diet of food, provides the body with the ideal amount of vitamins, while if we want to integrate simply buy multi-vitamin supplements that can be easily found on the market.

The enthusiasts of this type of food produced by centrifuge claim that both fruit and vegetables once processed by this type, keep intact all the enzymes present in them.

We can add that even by eating fresh fruit twice a day, the enzymes are maintained to perfection, and that most of them are lost in the digestive process through the acidity present in the stomach.

As you have seen, this is not the main benefit that is obtained by consuming a centrifuged food.

Many consider the centrifuge a superfluous and cumbersome appliance, as well as being a high-cost kitchen tool, which place among the last robots you can also buy because of the lack of versatility as we initially mentioned.
