    1. The first step to make this recipe is to sift the flour in a bowl (1), so that there are no lumps and it can mix well. Then add the sugar, pouring it on the flour (2). Then also add the butter cut into pieces (3).

    2. Now pour the vanilla always passing it through the sieve (4). Finally, add the egg yolk (5) and then start to knead well with your fingers (6).

    3. Going on to knead the dough up to begin to form a very compact ball (7). Then put the ball of dough in aluminum foil or a film (8), and wrap it (9) to let rest in the fridge for at least an hour.

    4. Passed one hour, take therefore the dough from fridge and start to knead rolling it like a cigar (10). Roll it very fine and divide it into three very long and fine cigars (11), then cut it into pieces of two centimeters long (12).
    5. Once you have cut the pieces of dough, roll them, forming small balls (13) between your hands. Once all the balls have rolled (14), place an aluminum foil on a baking pan and place on all balls (15).

    6. Now take a wooden spoon and with the handle make a hole in the center of each ball (16), clearly without passing it, just pressing a bit to have a place for the jam. Do the same for all the balls (17) and bake the baking tray for 15 minutes in a preheated oven at 200°C. Once done, take out the tray and place the biscuits on a plate (18). During the cooking the ball will crush slightly thus assuming the final form.
    7. Now, with a tea spoon pour in the center of the hole a little bit of jam (19). Then pass through a sieve a little bit of icing sugar (20) and let cool on the plate (21). Serve in the afternoon or evening as an after-dinner pastry.
